To edit audio from Steinberg Cubase or Nuendo in RX: In Cubase/Nuendo, select the audio clip for processing.
Open the audio file in the RX Audio Editor or send it via RX Connect.
Select the region with the hum present and open the De-hum module [Shift +3].
Click Learn to determine the noise profile of the Hum, or choose a preset from the menu if it is a traditional 50 or 60 cycle hum. For this example, we’ll choose the preset 60 Hz Wide Reduce.
Click Process to apply the De-Hum process.
You’ll notice this removes the fundamental, but a noticeable buzz still remains. For this, we’ll open the De-noise module [Shift+4].
Click the Spectral tab, and select Manual mode.
Now select a passage in the audio that contains just the isolated buzz without the dialogue and click Learn to extract the noise profile of the buzz.
Now select the entire region where the buzz is present.
Check the box marked Output Noise Only and click Preview. Raise the Reduction slider until you begin to hear tonal components of the voice and then reduce the value slightly from there. For this example, we found a reduction setting of 16.5 worked well.
Uncheck the Output Noise Only box.
Click Preview again to check the quality of the processing while listening to the dialogue.
When you have the desired settings dialed in, click Process.

Plug-in Only
Overview
When using the RX Connect plug-in, some DAW/NLEs monopolize the system’s audio drivers, preventing RX from playing audio through the same output device.
Cvs Rx Connect
The RX Monitor plug-in allows you to listen to the output of the RX Audio Editor through the audio driver output of your host application. This is particularly useful when using RX Connect with a host application that would need to be closed for the RX Audio Editor to access the output driver it is using.
Workflow
Insert the RX Monitor plug-in on an Aux or Instrument track in your DAW/NLE. When you first insert the RX Monitor plug-in, you will see a “Status: Disconnected” message. You need to configure RX Monitor as the Audio Driver in the RX Audio Editor to change the status to “Connected”
Change the Audio Driver in the RX Audio Editor:
Open Preferences
Select the Audio tab
In the “Driver Type” dropdown menu, select “RX Monitor”
Navigate back to your host application and confirm the RX Monitor plug-in is showing a “Connected” status
Playback audio in the RX Audio Editor, the output will be routed to the track you added RX Monitor to in your DAW/NLE.

If you are running virus protection software or a firewall on your DAW, you may need to grant permission for RX Monitor to run.
